In Lou of Flowers was a friend that stood erect
Volcanic in his spirit, flatulating with respect
The proctor and his doctor stroke the candles as they grieve
Horse apples from the range, noses wiped across the sleeve

In Lou of Flowers Cubans flocked to ride his griddle
Not a bartender alive who doesn’t steal at least a little
When slandered by a critic who fell ill from Lou’s chow mein
He spread his other cheek and simply changed the restaurant’s name

In Lou of Flowers, like a brother though a cad
My sisters all delivered the same day, same month, same dad
The rumors flew through Flowers, like a striped barber pole
Hazy crazy days of summer, naked knights with Nat “King” Cole

In Lou of Flowers, strode an angel in a suit
Transvestic golden showers fueled his quest of ill repute
His bucket now is kicked; his twig now lay at rest
His stain ingrained like acid rain immaculately dressed
