This is my story
Not proud to tell
Brightest of stars, I reside inside a cell
The child life I led I didn’t pursue

So many mills I have crawled through

Verse 2
Was never determined
How my mother died
Awoke one morn she lay dead by my side
I thought she was asleep, and kissed her on the cheek

It was the only love I ever knew

Bridge:
Through pompous circumstance
My father saw his chance
Hiding me away I never went to school

He made me dance and sing
Kept away from everything
Each note and every step was nothing short of brutal

Verse 3
Was consumed
By what he taught
Buttons pressed I was his robot
The music from our island; he stole every song he could

“Mesmer-Lied” the world but good

Fascinated people –I sang the songs and danced
Got inside the people – my name became their chant

Seemed like overnight, reached the highest of the heights
They said the talent of the son was nurtured by the father
With everything we had; I still couldn’t read or write,
Despicably successful life only got harder

Island smoke
Engulfed my head
Demonic voices I did what they said
A loaded parcel, no return address killed my father, this I must confess

Watched the vultures do what the vultures do

Worshipped by the people – soon be done
Killing of the teacher – the stolen songs

The press and all its might, kindled hatred to ignite
Inferno of the father extinguished by the son
Death sentenced for my crime I know after I die
